Notcutts Landscapes won the Supreme Winner award at the 2005 awards of the Association of Professional Landscapers (APL), held last week in Birmingham.
The annual awards recognise the best in landscaping undertaken by APL members, ranging from front gardens to contracts of more than £100,000.
The project that won the top prize for Notcutts and the category prize for garden construction costing £10,000-£50,000 was a garden construction at Norfolk & Norwich University Hospital.
Landscaper Chris Deakin said he was “delighted and overwhelmed” to be the supreme winner.
Winner of the garden construction £50,000-£100,000 category was Alison Moody of Frogheath Nursery Landscapes for her work on a new garden for a 19th-century oast house. She was also named Overall Domestic Winner.
The APL is part of the HTA and this year was the first time a stand-alone awards ceremony had been organised. Previously, the event was part of the HTA’s conference.
APL chairman Jason Lock said: “It’s a great testimony to the current strength and confidence in the APL that we have been able to create our own ceremony.”
