Construction on the new centre is set to start in June 2013 and a temporary garden centre will occupy the site, complete with an on-site coffee shop.
The new site will include two living walls, a canopy covered planteria, solar energy technology, a rainwater harvesting tank and borehole to help with the irrigation of the site during the drier months.
The new 220-seat Notcutts restaurant will provide access to an outdoor terrace, with a children’s play area as well as a new food hall.
A new pet department will house small animals, as well as pet food and equipment.
Notcutts chief executive Andy King said "We’re incredibly excited to be sharing our future vision for Notcutts with the redevelopment of our Pembury garden centre – our jewel in the crown garden centre just for the people of Tunbridge Wells."
Notcutts are working with Stanley Bragg of Colchester on the building itself and Dalziel and Pow on the internal design.
