Norris & Gardiner chairman has died

Norris & Gardiner landscape contracting firm chairman Colin Gardiner died aged 67 on 29 August.

His funeral was held at Aldershot Crematorium on 12 September. He founded Surrey-based Norris & Gardiner in 1964 with Cedric Norris. The pair met while Gardiner was an apprentice sheet metal worker at the Royal Academy of Engineering. After Norris retired in 1991, Gardiner took over the firm as a sole trader and became chairman in 2004, when the firm became a limited company. His son, Richard Gardiner, a BALI board member, and his daughter, Vivienne Grant, are currently directors. It is expected that Richard will become chairman.
