An interim management statement released today shows revenues grew 3.6 per cent year-on-year in the six months ending July 2011, with profits at £228 million.

Next has increased its store selling space by almost 200,000 sq ft since January and trialled a new garden centre format at Shoreham.

Five more Next stores with added garden centres are planned, wuth the first likely to open in Warrington, Cheshire, in spring 2012.

That number could increase as Next seeks more sites.

A representatuve said: "We are planning other sites but nothing is set in stone. Warrington is one of the sites we are looking at for the near future-spring 2012. It will be the same concept as Shoreham with everything Next has, plus the garden centre. Some of the others might be smaller."
