New de-compaction kit for race and golf courses

Charterhouse Turf Machinery has extended its range of de-compaction kit with a rugged addition to its line up for race- and golf courses

The new Verti-Drain 7621 is aimed at golf-course managers or contractors struggling with compacted surfaces such as fairways.
The kit has a working width of 2.1m, weighs in at 1650kg and has a penetration depth of up to 40cm.
"This is enough to relieve the deepest compaction, improve drainage and rejuvenate the sward," said the company.
"A heavy-duty gearbox withstands the forces needed for this kind of work and side plates have been reinforced to ensure smooth running."
Adjustment of the working depth is carried out hydraulically, and the tractor-power requirement is 65hp, with a 1,900kg lift capacity.
Herman de Bree of manufacturer Redexim said: "This is a heavy-duty machine for operators with the toughest decompaction jobs.
"We expect demand from racecourses, sports grounds and golf course fairways. Its robustness and high output should make it extremely popular with contractors."
