New commercial manager for Maelor Forest Nurseries

Maelor Forest Nurseries have appointed Chris Hardy as commercial manager.

He joined Maelor as technical trainee in August 2011 after graduating from Lancaster University. He became technical manager in 2017 and is in the process of completing an MSc in Plant Pathology with Harper Adams University.
Hardy has been responsible for the trial work carried out by Maelor in conjunction with universities and commercial partners including Hylobius control measures, alternative species trials and tree breeding trials of hybrids. His work has involved full compliance with Integrated Pest Management protocols.
Richard Parsons, the current commercial manager, leaves Maelor Forest Nurseries on 5 September to take up a forestry role with the Forestry Commission.
Maelor Forest Nurseries is a bare root forest nursery providing around 30 million bare root forest trees to the market each year, both in the UK and abroad. Wrexham-based Maelor became part of BSW Timber in July 2019.
