New book shows how to construct natural swimming pools

Landscape architect Michael Littlewood has brought out a book on building natural swimming pools.

Natural Swimming Pools - A Guide for Building contains more than 80 illustrations and photographs showing how to build eco-friendly pools that incorporate planting and fit in with nature.

The guide includes chapters on development, management, building, plumbing, electrics, structures, water, planting, care and construction. Littlewood introduced the natural pool concept into the UK and details what to plant as well as how to build the pools. Information is presented in an easy-to-understand style with illustrations showing building methods. These are supported by the inclusion of detailed scaled drawings

The book follows Littlewood's Natural Swimming Pools - Inspiration for Harmony with Nature. He says the new book costs less than one per cent of the total price for a pool. The book retails at £65 and is published by AgriMedia.
