National Highways has committed to plant an additional three million trees by 2030. Over the next five years it will secure seeds of UK origin and supply them to nurseries to cultivate until they’re ready to be planted.
As this is an unusual contract for National Highways, it invites nurseries to an online event to discover more details about the proposal. It wants the arrangement to be both simple and mutually beneficial and so wants to hear from nurseries to understand how they could fulfil the requirements needed for national coverage.
The topics for discussion at the online event will include how National Highways will pay for the service and whether a single provider, perhaps with the aid of sub-contractors, might be able to deliver the national coverage needed. The event will be a two-way meeting, with scope for nurseries to ask National Highways anything they’re unsure of, or advise of any requirements needed.
