National Forest Wood Fair 2011 - date set

The National Forest Wood Fair will be held on Bank Holiday Monday 29 August, at Beacon Hill Country Park, near Woodhouse Eaves in Leicestershire.

This annual event attracts thousands of visitors and more than 100 exhibitors and demonstrators each year. It features woodland crafts, lumberjack displays, horse logging and chainsaw carving displays.

"We want to make sure that if people are planning their holidays and mini-breaks at the start of the New Year, they get the date for the National Forest Wood Fair firmly in their diaries," said Penny Wilkinson, tourism and promotions officer for the National Forest Company.

"We have lots of exciting ideas and things are taking shape for another brilliant day in 2011."
