Myerscough College arboriculture students scoop awards for outstanding achievement

Seven arboriculture students have been acknowledged in Myerscough College's annual awards.

Myerscough College has rewarded seven of its arboriculture students for outstanding achievement.

 

From the BSc (Hons) in arboriculture

Tom Popplewell Institute of Chartered Foresters Best Student Award and the Landscape Planning Group Best Dissertation Award

Shane Rothwell Royal Botanical and Horticultural Society of Manchester and the Northern Counties Outstanding Student Award

Stephen Chown UKIISA Best Student Award for the Foundation Degree in Arboriculture

 

From the National Diploma in arboriculture

Ean Martin NW Woodland Industries Award first prize

Adam Davies Tree Link award for Academic Achievement

Jake Greenwood Dick Leigh Cup practical award

Christopher Ashworth Leonard Cheshire House Salver for the first diploma in arboriculture.

Shane Rothwell will now study for a Master's degree in ecology and conservation at Lancaster University. Stephen Chown will continue to work full-time while also undertaking an online BSc course. Ean Martin now works for the Isle of Man Forestry Board, while Adam Davies and Jake Greenwood will progress on to the woodland management industry.
