Barton has worked in horticulture for 14 years and at Mitie for 12, where he has worked in and led grounds maintenance and landscaping services including winter services gritting and providing indoor tropical plants.

Mitie’s clients include a range of blue chip financial organisations, and retail and property management companies which service more than 7,000 clients throughout the UK.

Tim Howell, who was appointed managing director of Mitie’s landscape business at the end of last year, said: "Andy has worked successfully for Mitie for 12 years, always surpassing client expectations and even winning awards through his unique and dedicated approach."

Barton said he would work relentlessly to exceed client expectations and push the limits of what Mitie can achieve.
