Millbrook buys third garden centre with "significant" potential to increase turnover

Millbrook, which owns two garden centres in Crowborough, Sussex and Gravesend in Kent, has bought Highgrove Garden Centre.

Highgrove is owned by Homeleigh Building Supplies and is located near Maidstone in Kent.  DHA Planning recently obtained a Certificate of Lawful Planning Use that provides "significant" potential to increase turnover.

Millbrook MD Tammy Woodhouse said: "We have been looking for a third site for some time to complement our existing centres.  It presents us with a really good opportunity and we are looking forward to developing and moving Highgrove forwards"

Homeleigh Building Supplies MD Trevor Jenkins said:  "Millbrook is a well-run business that shares our culture and ethics.  We are confident this agreement secures an exciting future for our staff."

Mike Gilbert, partner at Gilbert Evans who handled the transaction, added:  "We’ve worked closely with Highgrove for the last five years or so to make sure we could do the best deal.  Highgrove is a really good fit for Millbrook. The deal is a very good one for both parties."
