Midlands Sports Facility Show seminars to include advice on funding sources

Anyone involved in developing and managing sports facilities is invited to attend a free one-day event this month.

The Sports Facility Show hosted by the Sports And Play Construction Association (SAPCA) will focus on how to build a legacy with sports facilities and includes a full programme of seminars and expert advice for industry leaders as well as an exhibition.

Gold-medallist, world record holder and recent chair of the West Midlands Leadership Group for the 2012 Games, Dave Moorcroft, OBE, will chair the event, which will explore a range of topics.

These include funding sources for sports facilities, how to make a funding application, designing multi-use games areas, cost effective renovation, sports facility design for modern schools, lighting for outdoor sport, sports surface maintenance, and sports facility procurement.

SAPCA chief executive Chris Trickey said: "The Sports Facility Show is an indispensable aid to help those involved in almost every aspect of indoor and outdoor sports facility development.

"Our last event in Ravenscraig in Scotland attracted over 270 delegates, many of whom found it an invaluable opportunity to network. Anyone from schools, universities, local authorities, sports clubs, and sports and leisure centres will learn important information to help get the most out of their sports facility."

The Sports Facility Show takes place on 27 June at the Ricoh Arena in Coventry. Book by calling 024 7776 7226 or visiting www.sapca.org.uk/ricoh.
