Little Britain TV star Matt Lucas is to provide the voice of wild bird food and products range Peckish, which Westland is describing as the only proper brand in the market.

Lucas will provide the voiceover for a seven-figure campaign, which will preview at Glee (NEC Birmingham 19-21 September) and launch on ITV in November.

The ads will then run at various times during the year.

Westland hope the relaunch will give Peckish greater penetration into the market, which Solus (with the Chapelwood brand) and Gardman dominate.

Gardman is set to enter a new category to be launched at Glee, but are keeping it a close secret.

The new Peckish bird food advert is being directed by The Mob Film Company using director Chris Gaffey, and CGI company Jellyfish Pictures.

The advert will feature CGI birds and was coordinated by TBWA/Manchester, Westland’s creative agency.

The Mob Film Company have worked on advertising campaigns for companies such as VW, Kelloggs, Thomas Cook and Ariel whilst Jellyfish Productions have worked with Vodafone, Onetel and recently created the campaign for the Digital UK switchover.
