Maschio left-hand flail mower aims to improve verge work safety

Maschio has launched a left-hand offset model of its medium-duty flail mower, the Giraffa, for mowing verges and ditches.

Supplier Opico said it was aimed for use alongside roads because it enabled the driver to travel with the direction of the traffic. The mower is available in 1.6m, 1.85m and 2.1m working widths and suitable for 40hp to 80hp tractors, said Opico. It costs around £7,000.

"With the launch of the model, there's now a more user-friendly choice for mowing," said a spokesman. "By travelling with the flow of traffic, disruption is reduced and safety improved."

He added: "All Maschio flail mowers have digitally balanced rotors that reduce vibration and wear, and help ensure reliability."
