Market changes to top propagators' agenda

The International Plant Propagators Society regional conference 2012 will take place at East Malling Research (EMR) in Kent.

Exploring the theme "How to Excel in Changing Markets", speakers will cover subjects including marketing, production, reducing wastage, increasing profits, and plants and the future.

Taking place on 26-28 September, proceedings start with a dinner on 25 September and an opening address by Morris Foster of the RHS floral committee.

There will be an opportunity to view the EMR facilities and tour Brogdale, home of the national fruit collections. The schedule will also include visits to nearby businesses Palmstead Nurseries and Wyevale East Nurseries.

Palmstead sales manager Nick Coslett and Wyevale East director Richard McKenna will be among the conference speakers.

The event will also see the launch of the Horticultural Development Company Practical Propagation Guide by consultant Andrew Hewson.
