Garden designer Lucy Hunter of Hunter Landscape Design & Management has started the second phase of a multimillion pound project at an 11ha Cheshire estate.
Working with Welsh landscapers Dutton and Peters and bringing in expert help from the golf course and drainage specialist company MJ Abbotts, she is masterminding the design and construction of a new landscape.
The land is being transformed from potato fields to a rolling landscape with formal gardens including the creation of a pair of two large lakes, a formal pool and the planting of over 180 mature native trees and 800m of instant native hedging.
She chose Hampshire’s Hortus Loci to source and grow trees, instant hedging, topiary, perennials and aquatics for the mammoth project, saying that "Mark and Robin have great reputations in the business" and that the three were like-minded.
The finished landscape will boast formal gardens, a woodland garden, meadows, a opiary garden and a walled garden. The project is due for completion Summer 2014.
