London's second largest borough seeks tree maintenance contractors

The London Borough of Hillingdon is tendering for a three-year tree maintenance contract across the outer west London borough, worth £1.8-2.1 million.

Running from September 2019, the work involves all aspects of maintenance of council trees,  including tree surveying and inspection, limb and branch removal, pruning, removal of suckers and epitomic shoots, crown lifting, thinning and reduction, re-pollarding, felling, removal of deadwood, stump removal, root pruning and possibly tree planting.

The work may require removal of trees from beside lakes and rivers in remote areas with limited vehicle access.

Due to the volume of work, the borough says it may divide the area into north and south, with separate contractors operating within each.

The deadline for tenders to be submitted is 12 June 2019.
