Listen to the late Peter Seabrook talk about Floral Fantasia at the Horticulture Week podcast

In June 2020, Peter Seabrook, who died this month aged 86, talked about setting up his bedding extravaganza Floral Fantasia at RHS Hyde Hall in Essex.

The podcast was recorded at Hyde Hall at the display, which is set to stay as a memorial to the garden writer.

Peter Seabrook tells Hortweek editor Matthew Appleby about his work at Hyde Hall, created at the expense, he admits, of his own garden, but with the support of the trade and RHS.

He speaks with characteristic passion and in detail about the plants in the display and how it came about and how gardener Molli Christman has made it flourish: "People love colour and they love seasonal bedding and I don't understand why they're turning their back on it."

Seabook also speaks movingly about the reaction of the public to the display when the garden reopened as coronavirus lockdown restrictions were eased.
