Linking politics and horticulture

IoG chief executive officer Geoff Webb said that the presence of politicians at Saltex, including Haymarket chairman Lord Heseltine, was good for the groundsmanship industry's profile.

The presence of shadow innovation and skills minister Adam Afriyie could indicate that a future Conservative government might invest in groundsmanship training.Webb said: "Vocational training seems to be more in vogue and the IoG can benefit."

All-Party Parliamentary Gardening & Horticulture Group representative David Wilshire MP, landscaper the Earl of Courtown and the local mayor also attended.
