Lincolnshire Herbs and Barfoots of Botley claim industry awards

Two fresh produce growers were honoured at the IGD Food Industry Awards in London this week.

Lincolnshire Herbs won the Morrisons Award for Outstanding Business. Managing director Patrick Bastow described the award as: "a recognition of our innovation in production, sustainability and sustainability".

Barfoots of Botley took the Tetra Pak Environmental Sustainability Award in acknowedgement of the West Sussex vegetable grower's investment in anaerobic digestion. Its £3.5 million unit, which has been operating since May last year, turns 25,000 tonnes of green waste a year into heat and electricity, much of which is sold on.
