Architects and landscape designers were asked to put their ‘High Line – High Level Thinking Caps on’ to design the public realm.
The designs include outdoor lidos in the Thames, planted cycleways and elevated gardens in the sky.
Public Ream and Development Director for the Vauxhall BID Chris Law said: ‘The number and quality of the entries are remarkable. There is a lively variation of ideas and many reoccurring themes. Our aim is to help create a great public realm for Vauxhall.
"The ideas range from the bold imaginative concept, through quirky and fun to the highly practical and innovative. Some are even plainly bonkers. But this just adds to the amazing creative input.’
Vauxhall One, RIBA and The Landscape Institute will exhibit the entries at the Garden Museum, Lambeth Palace Road, London, SE1 7LB and in the parks of Vauxhall from 8-19th April 2013, 10am – 5pm.
