Land Use Consultants wins huge marine planning job for the south coast

Land Use Consultants' (LUC) landscape planning team has started work on a character assessment and visual resource map for a huge swathe of the south coast.

The study on behalf of the Marine Management Organisation will cover the coastline from the River Dart in Devon to Folkestone in Kent, taking in the full extent of the south inshore and offshore marine plan areas.

"This will help inform the client’s evidence base for marine planning in the south of England," said LUC. "It will promote an understanding of the character and visual resource through a strategic-scale classification and description of areas.

"An innovative approach to mapping the visual resource of the areas will be developed by our digital design team. It is expected this work will be used as a template for visual resource mapping in future marine plan areas."
