Kuppen to talk at oak processionary moth briefing

Arborist company Gristwood & Toms is hosting an oak processionary moth briefing in partnership with Henry Kuppen, one of Europe's leading authorities on the pest, at its headquarters in Shenley, Hertfordshire, on 3 March.

Gristwood & Toms representative Mark Townsend said: "We have been working closely with the London Tree Officers' Association (LTOA) and the Forestry Commission. We are developing a comprehensive report to provide all available information about the moth's spread and the best methods to contain, remove and destroy the nests safely and effectively."

He added: "Kuppen will be at the briefing to discuss the implications of an epidemic in Britain, from his extensive experience gained over 15 years of treating this pest in Europe. We will also reveal the findings of the draft report, to be published in association with the LTOA working group."
