Knoll Gardens and Butterfly World team up for garden community event

Garden and wildlife specialists are joining forces in Dorset on 3 December in a bid to inspire people to see their gardens as communities, where wildlife and plants can flourish in harmony.

The Garden as a Community brings together Neil Lucas, owner of ornamental grass specialist Knoll Gardens, and Butterfly World founder Clive Farrell alongside the RSPB and Dorset Wildlife Trust.

Organisers are the Knoll Gardens Foundation, a charity set-up to help everyone create sustainable, wildlife friendly gardens as well as ensuring the long-term future of the Wimborne show garden. There will be stands from the Hardy Plant Society and Plant Heritage.

The event is designed to bring together a range of expertise to provide information and support to people interested in creating and maintaining "truly sustainable and beautiful gardens".

Lucas said: "This is a great opportunity to be inspired and learn how to develop your garden. Not only as a beautiful oasis for plants, but also as a place that attracts birds, butterflies and other wildlife."

The Garden as a Community takes place at 2.30pm on 3 December at The Allendale Centre in Wimborne. Tickets cost £8 which includes admission to Knoll Gardens from 10am to 12.30pm, prior to the talk.
