Klondyke starts redesign of Wilmslow centre

Pleydell Smithyman has begun planning a design and build of Klondyke's Wilmslow garden centre.

Four greenhouses on the site burnt down on 29 June after a blaze caused by an electrical fault. The project is the Telford-based design and business consultancy's first for Klondyke.

Klondyke managing director Bob Hewitt said: "We are hoping to have the new centre open in June 2012, but it is all subject to planning approval."

Meanwhile, Wilmslow's outdoor planteria is continuing to trade. On-site concessions including Rainbow Play Equipment, Cheshire Spas & Swimming Pools and solar panel supplier the Big Green Company are also operational at the centre.

Pleydell Smithyman is also working on replacing a warehouse and adding new head office facilities for Ruxley Manor in Kent, which was also hit by a fire - in April 2009.
