Kernock to expand Garvinea range for 2014

Kernock Park Plants is planning to expand its range in 2014 with spider-type flower versions of Garvinea Gerbera.

Kernock won the deal to be the UK supplier of the plant, which was bred and introduced by Florist Holland, in September 2012.

Kernock Park Plants managing director Bruce Harnett said: "We are really pleased to be able to bring another great series of plants to the UK marketplace. These hardy Gerbera are a breeding innovation of an already popular favourite, so we can see why they are winning the hearts of experts and consumers alike."

Garvinea recently won an award in the plants category of the Sanoma Garden Awards, which are voted for by a jury of garden professionals and a large group of consumers.

They unanimously chose Garvinea as the winner, praising its colour and long flowing period.

Garvinea won the HortiFair Innovation Award 2009 and the Golden Florall Award 2010.
