This completes a process begun when Japanese-based vegetable and flower seed company Takii bought Sahin in September 2007. The new company will now trade under the name Takii Europe, but the Sahin brand will continue to exist.
Seed management assistant Agnes Andriessen said: "This means that Sahin will stop being a company, but there will not be a big change on the ground. We will keep both brands and the staff are completely integrated."
Sahin, founded in 1982 by Elizabeth Sahin and her late husband Kees, moved its headquarters from Alphen aan den Rijn in the western Netherlands to the location of Takii Europe in De Kwakel in September 2008. The rest of its operation, including its warehouse and shipping department, moved in May 2010.
Takii is headquartered in Kyoto and has offices in the Netherlands and France.
