John and Mylene Curtis, Ventnor Botanic Garden

John and Mylene Curtis have together taken over Ventnor Botanic Garden after Isle of Wight Council gave up running the venue, which cost it £300,000 a year.

Their bid was in partnership with Susyn Andrews, who is an RHS committee member and Kew research fellow.
