Job Done - Wheel park built in Medway following local consultation

Project: Ramps and tracks for Cozenton Wheel Park

Client: Medway Council

Contractor: Greenstreet Design

Action-mad BMX bikers, skaters and skateboarders are almost as daring as a unique set of sweeps and curves designed and built by Greenstreet Design.

Cozenton Wheel Park in Rainham opened last week and was built after a series of workshops and consultations with residents and young users.

A £178,000 grant from the Big Lottery Fund gave impetus to the project, made unique by concrete that was poured on site rather than prefabricated in a factory. "This allowed for far more scope and innovation," said a Greenstreet Design representative.

Community services councillor Howard Doe said: "The feedback from young people was crucial in shaping the design. We're committed to providing a first-class range of facilities for children and young people in Medway."
