Job Done - Recreation ground refurbishment project in Banstead

Project: Refurbishment of Lady Neville pavilion

Client: Reigate & Banstead Borough Council

Contractor: Farnrise Construction

Farnrise Construction has completed refurbishment works at the Lady Neville Recreation Ground in Banstead, Surrey. The Lady Neville Pavilion, previously a club room and changing room for Banstead Neville Bowling Club, has been turned into a cafe with outdoor seating, a conservatory and new toilet facilities.

Farnrise refurbished the pavilion, landscaped the grounds and installed a play area for just under £463,000. Reigate & Banstead Borough Council used funding from its playgrounds improvement budget for the play area, and a new multi-use games area was installed using cash from the Big Lottery Fund and Surrey County Council. The landscaping work was funded using section 106 money - infrastructure contributions from developers.

Reigate & Banstead executive member for leisure and well-being Adam De Save said: "This has been a very successful project. The refurbishment of the pavilion and the improvements to the recreation ground provide first-class recreational facilities for the local community."
