"Organisers are emphasising the fact that Japan is in post-quake reconstruction, which should present excellent sales opportunities for British suppliers," said the group.
Gardenex, the Federation of Garden and Leisure Manufacturers, is trying to recruit exhibitors for the Japan garden trade fair IFEX/GARDEX/EXTEPO.
Suppliers of plants, green roofs experts, landscapers and technology firms are being urged to sign up to the event in Makuhari New City, Japan, from 13 to 15 October.
This was an "opportune time" for British exhibiting firms, said a spokesman, due to favourable exchange rates and grants of up to £1,800 from the Government’s UK Trade and Investment group, which promotes UK trade abroad, as well as the earthquake.
The Gardenex show drew 30,000 visitors last year.
