ISS plants millionth flower for Allerdale Borough Council

ISS Facility Services Landscaping planted its one-millionth bedding plant for Allerdale Borough Council last month.

The Yellow Non-Stop begonia in Curwen Park, Workington, was a "symbol of the long-standing partnership between ISS and Allerdale," according to the company.

ISS has worked with the local authority for eight years, handling beds and borders in a 14-year contract thought to be worth more than £1m annually.

This year, ISS has also planted 200 summer baskets with Surfinia, lobelia and petunia.

The mayor and mayoress of Allerdale, Joe and Dorothy Holliday, planted the one-millionth bedding plant as part of a special ceremony held in the park.
