IoG to host workshops on turf and pitch seasonal maintenance

Grounds staff are to brush up their skills on a swathe of issues including upkeep of winter pitches, using nutritional programmes and improving sustainability.

The Institute of Groundsmanship (IoG) event on seasonal maintenance will include
workshops and talks by experts from Scotts, Turftrax and British Sugar.

Presentations will include a talk on repair and maintenance of winter pitches and turf nutrition for autumn and winter surfaces.

"We will look at how to maximise your budgets by establishing a programme appropriate to your grounds," said a representative.

British Sugar will give an insight into managing its carbon footprint using bio-fuels made from the sugar-production processes.

Sessions at the event at Bury-St-Edmunds Rugby Club on 25 February will include managing and maintaining pitches, renovation and maintenance.

Tickets cost from £15. Contact 01908 311140 or email
