Despite 2013 being one of the toughest on record for the sector, NFP had its best ever year, said nursery manager Matthew Dixon.
New outside beds gave 1.2ha of extra growing space. Early in 2014, the nursery will be increased further through the development of an additional hectare along with new covered tunnels for enhanced protection of winter crops. NFP will also be recruiting additional staff.
"We're delighted with all the investment Roundstone Nurseries has made into NFP," said Dixon. "It means we're able to service our customers so much better.
"For example, our web shop, which allows real-time online ordering 24/7, has made life so much easier for garden centre buyers."
Collections for 2014 feature new ranges of heuchera, including 'Rio' to tie in with the World Cup and Olympic Games in Brazil, 'Fire Alarm' and 'Gotham'. 'Amethyst' and 'Amethyst Snow' are new centaurea, while 'Wild Swan' anemones will also feature.
