Inaugural AQUA 2010 aquatic trade show attracts 1,300 visitors

AQUA 2010, which was held for the first time last week, was "like a tradeshow of old", according to Steve Bladon of exhibitor Nishikoi.

Bladon said: "It’s brought the buzz back into the water gardening and aquarium sectors. It’s fantastic to see all the majors here. There’s been a great turnout of customers."

Over the course of the two days, AQUA 2010 attracted 1,294 visitors to the International Centre in Telford with 819 attending the opening day.  Almost 4% were from overseas.

Richard Baxter from Mossatburn Garden Centre in Aberdeenshire said: "It’s been well worth coming. I am really happy all the trade is here in one location."

"We couldn’t have had a more positive response," declared show director Annie Dyke.

"Feedback from our exhibitors and visitors has been extremely encouraging and it proves that we were right to stage this specialist event for the aquatics, water gardening and reptile sectors."
