HTA reveals latest board reshuffle

The HTA announced a more retail-focused top rank at its annual general meeting this week.

Caroline Owen, managing director of Scotsdales Garden Centre, succeeds Johnsons of Whixley managing director Andrew Richardson as the association's president.

New deputy president is Garden & Leisure Group operations director Carol Paris.

Haskins' garden retail operations director Philip Evason and John Woods Nurseries managing director John Lord have joined the HTA board. Evason also takes over as chairman of the HTA's retail management committee from Owen.

They will join existing board members Ian Ashton and Stan Green, representing growers, David Norman as a retailer and Adam Frost, representing landscapers.

Past president Ken Crowther and John Tugman stepped down at the meeting.
