HTA members to get tax help

The HTA is extending its member benefits for 2008 with the addition of tax protection and a new tax advice helpline.

For no extra charge, HTA members with an annual turnover of up to £2.5m will now receive tax protection and be able to take advantage of a tax advice helpline through DAS - a provider in the legal expenses insurance market.

If required, DAS will appoint a tax specialist to negotiate and represent member companies in appeal proceedings if the HMRC pursues: a full or aspect enquiry; a dispute arising from a review of a company's compliance with Pay-As-You-Earn or social security regulations; or an assessment with reference to value-added tax.

HTA membership services manager Helen Davies said: "We will be distributing full policy documentation to qualifying members upon receipt of next year's subscription."
