The HTA meets with the minister of state

The HTA has met with Gareth Thomas MP, minister of state at the department for business, enterprise and regulatory reform, to discuss ways of relaxing Sunday trading laws to extend shopping hours for garden centres and their customers. The HTA-sponsored private Sunday Trading (Horticulture) Bill is in committee stage and seeks to allow local authorities to grant exemption from legislation for the sale of horticultural supplies.
