Related activities posted on social media so far include Turners Plant and Garden Nursery’s "Plant a Wacky Pot" competition and Perrywood's recipe cards featuring step-by-step guides to planting in pots.

Merryhatton organised an Easter holiday competition where children brought in their best pot to be judged, whilst Timmermans and Ross Garden Centre have been showcasing their best pot displays in their plant area.

Email media.office@the-hta.org.uk or upload to the It Starts with a Pot Facebook page to enter. The closing date for the competition is Friday 6 June.

There will be a prize (to be revealed) for the team behind the most inspirational display. See www.the-hta.org.uk/iswap
