The Horticultural Trades Association (HTA) is to launch a consumer gardening magazine that will retail at £1.99 from garden centres.
HTA chief Carol Paris told the association's seasonal plants conference, held at Young Plants, Homeground aims to attract non-gardening advertisers and be like the Waitrose and Delicious lifestyle magazines.
Garden centres will pay 65p per copy.
The HTA has also recruited celebrities James Wong, Goldie and Savannah Miller to promote the garden industry marketing board campaigns across social media, starting with 'it starts with a pot' initiative in 2014.
The HTA has also pitched it's cultivation street campaign to ITV.
Originator David Domoney put together the idea for TV several years ago but went to the HTA to promote it for 2013.
