HTA extends deadline for National Plant Show discounted stands

The HTA has extended its deadline for discounted stands at the National Plant Show because of the postal strike.

HTA business development director Tim Briercliffe says the HTA has extended its deadline for discounted stands at the National Plant Show from 31 October to 20 November because of the postal strike.

Briercliffe says more than 50 stands are booked — more than halfway to the target of filling the hall at Stoneleigh in Warwickshire for the new show, which is on 28-30 June 2010.

He added: "It is building well. We have not done heavy marketing and have extended the deadline because of the postal strike. We're going to write to growers again because mail sent near the end of October has been delayed by the strike. Retailers are very keen on the idea.

"Garden Centre Group plant buyer Tim Clapp asked for the show at the Contact conference early this year. They are taking it very seriously as a show for their business."

The National Plant Show will run as part of the new Garden Expo trade show and follows the regular British Plant Buying Fair, which has run for four years - first at Pershore and now at Stoneleigh.
