HTA event set to tackle business

The new two-day HTA annual industry leaders' conference at London's Stock Exchange on 21-22 October will be chaired by broadcast journalist Peter Day and feature HSBC senior economist Mark Berrisford-Smith along with Stuart Scott, Edward de Bono's master trainer in the UK, and Tim How, chief executive of Majestic Wine.

The conference is co-sponsored by Horticulture Week, Garden Retail, Scotts Miracle Gro and Westland.

HTA president Andrew Richardson said: "This new-style conference marks the coming of age of horticulture here in the UK. While plants will remain at the heart of all we do, HTA members are first and foremost business people and we constantly need to be aware of what consumers, our customers and our competitors are thinking and doing. This new HTA event will give a hugely valuable opportunity to look at these external influences and discuss current issues."
