Horticulture Week Crime Map

Horticulture Week has created an interactive map plotting the locations of businesses that have been hit by thieves since August 2009 as covered by HW reporters.

We hope the map will help business owners to see, at a glance, areas where robberies targeting horticultural firms have been a problem and offer the opportunity for those hit by thieves to locate and make contact with other businesses experiencing similar problems in their area.

We also hope it will help to raise awareness and focus the attention of the relevant authorities and industry bodies on a problem that appears to have grown as the recession has deepened. The map may also reveal some patterns or clusters which could be useful in drawing up strategies to combat such crimes.

The more incidents that are plotted on the map the more useful it might become. So please let us know if you have direct knowledge of any crimes affecting horticultural businesses that have not been included. Email christina.taylor@haymarket.com.
