Ground Control offers a truly nationwide grounds maintenance service, catering for single- and multi-site customers across a wide range of commercial sectors. Counting the likes of Tesco, Sainsbury’s, Thames Water, Severn Trent Water, Travelodge and Network Rail among its long-standing contracts, it services more than 45,000 commercial sites across the UK.

A keen investor in technology, the company’s "TotalView" mapping system provides a site-specific graphical database of customers’ external assets, hazards and associated maintenance. Meanwhile, real-time information from mobile field applications allows customers to review mobile workforce schedules.

Service delivery is monitored through auditing to evaluate compliance with: legal requirements, management systems, procedures and customer standards; structured assessment of operations and standards by compliance managers; mystery auditors; customer satisfaction surveys; and real-time assessments of delivery on the ground.

The end result is high customer satisfaction — the business has received a total of 2,716 testimonials from customers to date, commending its high quality of work and customer service.

A focus on innovation and sustainability has seen the business invest in battery powered equipment for use on a range of contracts. As well as reducing the company’s carbon emissions, this has also helped to meet site-specific client requirements such as the prohibition of petrol/diesel machinery use at water utility sites within a certain distance of clean water testing laboratories.

Ground Control is committed to reducing any negative environmental impact and is working to reduce consumption, increase recycling and reconsider how it manage its activities. A qualified in-house team carries out ecological surveys prior to all works. Ground Control also works alongside local schools and communities to encourage biodiversity.

A select number of clients are invited to an annual "environmental awareness day" to support the daily maintenance of their estates. This includes talks on topics such as sustainability, biodiversity, invasive species, tree management and pest control, delivered by Ground Control’s own experts.

The firm supports local communities with training and employment opportunities, as well as charitable support. Following the building of a new pumping station by client Anglian Water, Ground Control provided 15,000 bulbs, tools and training on planting for local residents.
