Lawn Master owner Ian Stephens has started a change.org petition at https://www.change.org/p/linkedin-horticulture-category-for-linkedin: "It seems most unfair that the entire sector of Horticulture has no way of identifying itself as a business type on LinkedIn. Most other 'professional' jobs are recognised, it seems such a shame that gardening is never acknowledged.
"My reason for trying to get a category added is to highlight the important work that is carried out by businesses working across horticulture as an industry. We spend our time making everyone else's properties look amazing, so it would be lovely to have some sort of recognition for the exceptional work that we all do.
"I have well over 1,300 likes in support of this on a LinkedIn post already, but unfortunately this doesn't seem to be enough to convince them of the need for a new category
"Please LinkedIn can we have a category? Just 'Horticulture' would be a great improvement and very much appreciated. Thank you."
CGJ Mathias & Son Nurseries/Hedges Direct manager Jim Campion said he wants LinkedIn to accept making a horticultural category to their site: "We have been trying for years and to no avail."
