The Horticultural Development Company

The Horticultural Development Company (HDC) has appointed 10 new members to its sector panels following an election.

James Walkers (bulb and outdoor flower production) and James Cole (outdoor cut flowers and foliage) have been re-elected to the bulb and cut flowers sector panels. Field vegetables has three new members: Philip Lilley (onions and leeks), Jackie Harris (herbs) and Roger Bloom (salad onions and asparagus). Hardy nursery stock has four new members: John Hall (heathers), Jamie Dewhurst (trees and hedging), Nick Reese (propagation) and Chris Bowman (roses). Protected ornamentals has two new members: Andrew Gretton and Mike Opperman (both representing containerised ornamentals). Michael Mann is re-elected as cut flowers representative. Nigel Jenner is the new tree fruit member (dessert apples). HDC will announce four more HNS panel members and several fruit and vegetable representatives in early December.
