Historic parks explored at event

The importance of historic public parks in London will be explored during an event led by the London Parks & Green Spaces Forum next month.

The London Historic Landscapes seminar is being held in Gunnersbury Park on 26 February.

The event includes a tour of Gunnersbury Park, as well as talks on landscapes and garden buildings at risk, and developments in heritage protection.

The seminar is also sponsored by English Heritage and the London Boroughs of Hounslow and Ealing.

Speakers include:

Sue Ireland - City of London Corporation director of open spaces
Sally Prothero - LDA Design landscape architect
Chris Sumner - London Parks & Gardens Trust chairman
Paul Stamper - English Heritage head of historic parks and gardens register
