High Street sales rise in March but lag behind garden retail

High street sales increased by 3.2 per cent in March, the BDO High Street Sales Tracker has found.

Homeware was 2.1 per cent up and non-store internet sales were 34.2 per cent up on the same month in 2013.

Lifestyle products were 2 per cent up.

BDO surveys 10,000 non-food stores owned by 85 different retailers weekly.

Garden Centre Association figures show the garden retail sector was 41 per cent up on 2013 in March.
