Control of downy mildew diseases on hardy nursery stock and perennial herbaceous plants is by Tim O'Neill and covers hebe, rose and other major nursery stock and herbaceous perennial species.

The factsheet provides guidance on how to minimise losses by the use of clean stock plant, good nursery hygiene, avoiding favourable environmental conditions for disease development and by appropriate fungicide treatment.

Action points are to grow more resistent species, be aware of susceptible species, don't confuse symptoms, ensure stock plants are free of disease, manage the crop to minimise prolonged leaf wetness, act promptly when disease is found and trim diseased shoots from lightly affected plants and treat with a suitable fungicide.

The guide lists products such as Percos, Fubol Gold WG, Signum, Hortiphyte and Infinito as controls.
